Maybe thatвЂ™s the path Apple will continue to take, or maybe weвЂ™ll need to wait until September to see the standalone product.ДonвЂ™t get me wrong, I think Apple had a lot to show off today, and I canвЂ™t wait to get my hands on early builds of iOS 10, macOS Sierra, watchOS 3 and tvOS.

Siri, instead, is getting upgrades inside of macOS Sierra and iOS 10, where sheвЂ™ll be more valuable than ever thanks to a new вЂњHomeвЂќ application that will allow her to control appliances. It wasnвЂ™t really clear what form this was going to take, though rumors suggested it might work in a new always-listening Apple TV product.ДЄpple discussed tvOS and a few updates to the controller and Siri, but didnвЂ™t once mention this standalone always-on home assistant. See, before WWDC, rumor had it Apple was going to introduce its own in-home assistant, similar to AmazonВ Echo. We werenвЂ™t quite expecting an Apple Watch 2, but we did think Apple would talk a bit more about Apple TV. That makes it hard to intro new hardware, even though Apple unveiled a brand new macOS Sierra operating system that will eventually run on those new computers. The company is probably waiting for the latest Intel Core i processors, otherwise known as IntelвЂ™s Kaby LakeВ chips, which arenвЂ™t expected to debut until the fourth quarter of this year.

Apple might be saving its new laptops for September or, perhaps, even later.
